I grew up in Los Angeles where my earliest memories include running over to my next door neighbor's for a taste of corn tortillas and jalapeno carrots and coming back to my house to dip my finger into a vat of Korean chili pepper paste until the savory sting was too much to handle. I grew up fascinated by people, culture and rituals - the things we do to make meaning and share it with each other through art, song, food and dance.
This fascination is a part of my design DNA. As a human-centered designer, I play at the intersections of research, design and strategy, applying my background in journalism and anthropology to delve deep into the heart of the matter and bring transformative business value to my clients.
As an experience design director, I serve the user and I serve my team - gathering key stakeholders to align business strategy with experience strategy, mentoring designers and creating the most effective and fun ways to put the best work out there.
I am a proud graduate of NYU's Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP). At ITP, I experimented with emerging technology, design thinking and art, creating conceptual installations and rapid prototypes to test ideas and concepts. My work has appeared in NPR, PSFK, Boing Boing, inhabitat, and at the Graphic Design Festival Breda. My publications include profiles, essays, and feature length stories. A couple of my latest pieces are with Contexts and NPR.
In my spare time, I love to eat, cook for friends, make music, read novels, do yoga, meditate, swim in the clearest waters I can find and picnic at Prospect Park with my family.
